About
Poughkeepsie Alliance

Since its founding in 2014, the Poughkeepsie Alliance has united business executives, nonprofit leaders, community champions, and elected officials behind a singular mission to promote the economic revitalization of the city and improve the quality of life of its residents.

The Alliance’s greatest strength is its ability to lend the strong business and nonprofit acumen of its diverse Board of Directors, through partnership,  across sectors in a nonpartisan manner to affect change quickly.

Our all-volunteer, 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization is funded through project-specific grants and the direct contributions of its board members and supporters.

Our work focuses on projects such as critical workforce shortages, improving public spaces, and the needs of youth within the community. Prospective projects are vetted by our Project Selection and Review Committee and then recommended to our board of directors for approval.
